Four members of their high school Drama Club in Malawi meet up again some years after graduation. Elaine and Nigel, were engaged at graduation but fell out after Elaine discovered Nigel stoned, naked, and entwined with a prostitute on the floor of his apartment. Since then Elaine has been very successful, but Nigel has sunk into drug abuse and penury. They meet by chance, or perhaps spiritual influence on the romantic shores of Lake Malawi where the ancestral spirits inhabiting the place make magic to effect a steamy reconciliation in a cave in the center of Boadzulu Island which the Malawian staff of the nearby hotel where the couple are staying insist does not exist.
