When their father dies, Brad’s daughters discover among his things, three notebooks, each containing the story of one of the three great loves of his life.
The first story begins when Brad suffers a lot of ridicule in high school because of his very small size and ugly face. Very unhappy, he sees Janice, falls in love with her at first sight and, like Don Quixote starts out on a hopeless quest to win his fair love. He becomes a sports fan because she’s a cheerleader and hides in the bushes across the street from her home so he can watch her when she goes in or out of the door. But he stays too far away from her to be noticed.
Then one day, accidentally, in the cafeteria, he finds himself next to her, and miraculously she speaks to him inviting him to eat with her With Janice taking the initiative an intimate friendship rapidly develops.
South Africa, one of his favorite places, inspires the beginning of his writings. Read or listen to his words and find the delicate intricacies of how he lives and what he has to say.
