She has formed a very steamy, physically satisfying relationship with her cook’s son, but, wanting family and someone who depends on her, begins to wish for a husband rather than a lover and casts her eyes on Andy’s father, who has been single since his wife's death. The visit to Mulanje gives her the chance to pursue the goal, but she finds David uninterested and instead turns to Sue’s father, who has fallen into deep depression. Determined to heal him, she develops a relationship that blossoms into mutual love.
