Marine researcher Mira Calder discovers an ancient library hidden beneath the ocean floor that contains books recording the lives of every human being. As she and her team study different volumes, they learn the books can record the present, predict possible futures, and even describe lives that have not yet begun. In the end Mira discovers the library does not control destiny but instead records the many possible paths of human choice, proving that the future is always still being written.
