Transportation historian Daniel Mercer boards a mysterious train that appears each night at an abandoned station and discovers it travels to stations that exist only in memories of lost towns and moments from people’s pasts. As the journey continues the train shows him pieces of his own life and reveals that the railway survives by carrying the memories of places and people that time has left behind. At the final stop Daniel sees a possible future where he preserves those forgotten stories himself, realizing the journey was guiding him toward the purpose of keeping those memories alive.
