About
Summary
Beyond the Textbook is the story of a high school senior, Sarah Collins, who wonders why people tend to value traditional education so much. Weary of grades and tests, she starts volunteering in a local shelter, where she teaches and gets to know children in a real and important way. Helping them come out of their difficulties, Sarah is taught the value of compassion, tolerance, and fraternity. When she realizes that learning is not all in books she chooses to take the road less traveled, where she can truly make a difference. The story of Sarah is a lesson that learning is of growth and connecting and experience that makes us who we are.Book information
