About
Summary
The cathedral bells of Ashthorne go off on the first and flying day in a century, and the town rises to a silence that cannot be called anything. Word travels quicker than truth--there are rumors of broken covenants, and there are rumors of doors that ought never to be opened.
The mystery is a nearer one to Kaelen. His sister Lyra disappears that very morning leaving behind only a silver hairpin and a lullaby floating out of the shadows of Wraith Lane. Out of love and desperation, Kaelen moves into the archway--and into a place where the Librarian reigns, where all questions are paid a price, and all strands of identity can be disjunked.
Viewed through lenses, witness, and the words of those who caught a glimpse of the brothers returning--changed, scarred, never the same--Whispers Beyond the Veil is a record of deals cut in the darkness, of names traded, and of a town that will never be the same as it was before the walking dead came back to them.
