In the year 1622 in Scotland, the Laird Grant encounters what he believes to be an apparition of a little girl in a meadow. Before long, he realises that she is entirely real. He gives her the name ‘Wild Flower’. Fascinated by an old family tale about a girl who appears out of nowhere in that very meadow, he eagerly engages her as a companion for his granddaughter.
His granddaughter, Logan, is spiteful & mean to the newcomer, but Wild Flower is unrelentingly kind & sweet in response & eventually wins her friendship. Little does Logan realise what the future holds for her. With the help of Wild Flower she will fulfil her glorious destiny to become a legendary swordsman. Or should that be swordswoman? To her surprise, whenever she transforms into her alter ego, her eyes change colour!
I tried for over 20 ears to write a novel, but I failed every time. I simply couldn't sustain the inspiration. Then, during a visit to Scotland, I started writing 'The Fire Tree'. The words poured onto the page like a torrent, as if a dam had burst.
I ended up writing 4 huge books, each almost 200,000 words each.
I split those books down into 6, then 10, then finally into 12 books, each of around 60,000 words.
I have now edited, proofed & published 6 of them as an independent author.View all by Ken Peter Kirk
