There, he’s taken in by Fagin, a criminal who trains children to steal. Oliver is caught during a robbery but rescued by the kind Mr. Brownlow. Fagin and the violent Bill Sikes try to drag him back into crime, but their schemes unravel. Sikes dies, Fagin is captured, and Oliver’s true heritage is revealed—he’s from a respectable family.
