Told in the close, unflinching present tense in both their voices, this is a story about two people carrying wars nobody else can see, and the fragile, hard-won peace they have to build one honest joint at a time.
To earn her, Henrik has to give up the money, the note, the version of the story that let him grieve, and stand on the ramp with empty hands and put his own labor into the hull that damns his own family. Some fights you win. This is the one they both have to lay down.
