Season One follows ten apparatuses in turn, beginning with the telephone in 1876 and closing with the contemporary surveillance infrastructure of the present period. Each episode names what the apparatus has been built to do, by whom, against which bodies, and to what cumulative end. The body of the listener is the body the series has been written for. The body has been on the receiving end of the apparatus across the long century the series documents. The body now hears what has been done to it. Season Two follows.
