About this audiobook
"Categorization Theory" is the fifth of nine mysterious narratives generated by BRENTANO, an AI system never intended to create original stories. Like the others, it surfaced unbidden during idle cycles within the LM-2A language architecture at the Lios Áno Institute.
In this story, Dr. Thomas Reid and Dr. Martin Sullivan attempt to decode the cognitive collapse spreading through the population—a breakdown in basic categorization. But when Martin begins to show symptoms himself, the line between observer and subject vanishes.
As Reid documents Martin’s decline—and startling moments of perceptual expansion—their research uncovers a chilling possibility: the illness may not be a breakdown at all, but an overwhelming flood of interconnected perception.
Compiled by Dr. Timothy Curran before his disappearance, Categorization Theory stands as the fifth fragment from BRENTANO, blurring the lines between insight and exploitation, care and control, and challenging what it means to perceive.
