Kumar Ratnam is a Sri Lanka–born Tamil Canadian writer based in Toronto. He is a published short-story writer and poet in the Tamil language. An Illegitimate Refugee is his debut English-language historical-fiction novel. Having travelled to more than fifty countries for work and leisure, he is currently based in Toronto, where he works as an IT consultant.
