Frank Richard Stockton

Frank Richard Stockton was an American author and humorist born on April 5, 1834 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He is best known for his short stories and fairy tales that often feature absurd and fantastical elements. Stockton's works often explore the themes of morality, human nature, and humor, and are characterized by their imaginative plots and witty storytelling style. Stockton began his writing career as a journalist, working for several newspapers and magazines before turning to fiction. He published his first collection of stories, "Round-About Rambles in Lands of Fact and Fancy," in 1875. This was followed by several other collections of stories and fairy tales, including "The Lady, or the Tiger?" and "The Bee-Man of Orn." Stockton was also a popular speaker and lecturer, and was known for his humorous and entertaining speeches. He continued to write and publish stories and articles throughout his life, and remains a beloved figure in American literature to this day. Stockton passed away on April 20, 1902 in Washington, D.C.
