Emily Brontë (1818–1848) was an English novelist and poet, widely regarded as one of the most original and powerful voices in Victorian literature. Born in Thornton, Yorkshire, she spent much of her short life on the remote moorlands that would come to define her imagination — raised alongside her gifted siblings Charlotte and Anne in the parsonage at Haworth.
