Bram Stoker (1847–1912) was an Irish author best known for his 1897 Gothic horror novel *Dracula*. Born in Dublin, he overcame a sickly childhood to study at Trinity College. He worked as a theater manager for actor Sir Henry Irving while writing fiction. Though *Dracula* was not an immediate success, it became a classic and helped shape modern vampire mythology. Stoker died in 1912, but his legacy endures through his influential contributions to horror literature.
