Abdihakin Elmi writes and makes films for young Somalis about the things families carry and rarely say out loud. He was raised in Nairobi by his mother and older sisters after his father died, and he carries his father's name, Biin. He is also the founder of Ilays Solutions and co-founder of Sheerxirfad, an e-learning platform serving more than twenty thousand students across East Africa and the diaspora. This is his first book.
