Summary
The War of Gold is a tale of Charlie Montgomery, a Cedar Ridge, Colorado miner who realizes his cousin James has learned about a rich vein of gold and he hires mercenaries to guard it. Charlie is in a moral dilemma whether to take the side of his family or to defend the workers who had established their lives on the land. He decides to organize the workers in a revolution in order to restore their portion of the gold. The themes of power, greed and justice are discussed in the story as Charlie forms his leadership that does not only question his family, but also reforms the idea of defending the right course and the society.Book information
