When Elias Thorn climbs the forbidden slopes of Greywake Mountain to investigate strange tremors, he discovers the mountain is the sleeping body of an ancient giant whose breathing shakes the valley. Deep inside the mountain he learns the guardian once tried to reshape the land as it was long ago, and if awakened fully it could destroy the villages that now thrive there. By showing the giant the living valley through the mountain’s memories, Elias convinces the guardian to remain asleep and protect the world as it has become.
