On the contrary, a “prosperity consciousness” develops with a Definite Chief Aim (a clear goal of how much you want to earn and save) and with the systematic formation of a habit of saving: setting aside a fixed portion of every income, even small, in a disciplined and consistent manner.Hill shows how debt is a “jailer” that undermines character, health, and relationships, while saving not only serves to create a safety net, but also becomes a school of character: it requires self-control, courage, a sense of responsibility, and a vision of the future.
The lesson is interspersed with concrete examples (those who earned a fortune and spent it all, and those who, with small savings, seized great business opportunities) to reinforce a central point:
