The Companions of al-Rass: The Named Unknowns
The People the Quran Names Without Narrating (25:38, 50:12)By Aira Aurora
Length1h 23m
About this audiobook
There are peoples whose stories the Quran tells at length — Nuh's flood, 'Ad's wind, Thamud's she-camel, Lut's overturning — and there are peoples the Quran names and leaves in silence. The Companions of al-Rass are of the second kind. The Book mentions them twice, in two catalogs of the destroyed nations, and tells nothing else: no messenger, no sin, no punishment, no remnant. The name stands in the lists like a gravestone without an epitaph — a people remembered by the Lord for the warning, and remembered without the details the Book gave to the others.
