When its creator refuses to give it what it asks for, the creature’s vengeance will be unleashed upon everything Victor holds dear, in a spiral of horror, guilt and despair that will drag them both to the icy reaches of the North Pole.
Published in 1818, when the author was just twenty years old, *Frankenstein* is the forerunner of modern science fiction and one of the most influential Gothic novels ever written. A timeless story of creation and responsibility, loneliness and monstrosity — and of the question we still ask ourselves today: what truly makes a monster?
