ElevenReader Publishing is a free audiobook self-publishing program for authors and publishers. The program lets you distribute your writing and text content with on-demand AI voice narration on the <a href="/">ElevenReader app</a> globally on iOS and Android.
Can I earn payouts from my audiobook?
Yes, as part of our beta payouts program, you can earn payouts from your audiobook distributed on ElevenReader Publishing. Authors and publishers can either list books for direct sale and earn a 60% royalty on all sales, or receive compensation based on engaged listeners for books listed as free. How does the review process work?
Each book submission will undergo an approximately 3-7 day review process where we check that it meets our <a href="https://elevenreader.io/publishing-terms-of-service">terms of service</a> and <a href="https://elevenreader.io/content-guidelines">content guidelines</a>.
Are there exclusivity restrictions?
Yes, there are no exclusivity restrictions. You can generate and export audiobook files using our Studio projects feature and a paid ElevenLabs plan, including with our Findaway Voices by Spotify partnership. However, please note that many other audiobook platforms like Audible, Apple Books, Kobo, and Barnes & Noble may not accept AI-narrated audiobooks, so check each platform's terms and conditions before attempting distribution.
Can I export my audio file?
No, today our publishing program is designed for on-demand AI audio narration on the ElevenReader app. To export your audio file, you can use ElevenLabs' Studio with a paid subscription to produce ultra-high quality audio file exports, including for Findaway Voices by Spotify. Can I select or customize my own voices?

Are there really no costs involved?
Yes. ElevenReader Publishing is a zero-cost audio self-publishing program designed for independent authors and publishers. Uploading your book's text and distributing on the ElevenReader app is offered at no cost. We most recently launched direct transactions for audiobooks distributed on the app with an industry-leading royalty rate of 60% to provide authors with their share. There are no exclusivity restrictions or requirements when distributing with ElevenReader, and you are free to unlist your book at any time.
How do you safeguard copyright and IP?
We protect intellectual property through our approval process and offer a takedown system on the ElevenReader app, giving you complete control over your content's availability on our platform. You retain full ownership and copyright of your work, and we do not use your text for AI training purposes. What file specifications are required from ElevenLabs Studio?
You can use either 128 kbps or 192 kbps audio quality when publishing your original audio created with ElevenLabs Studio. You do not need to add any pauses before or at the end of chapters to publish your ElevenLabs audio to ElevenReader. Keep in mind, other platforms likely require different specifications if you wish to reuse your produced audio files from ElevenLabs.
How do I know the AI voices sound natural?
Download the free ElevenReader app for iOS or Android to try the voices for yourself! The voices offered on the app are the same voices users can select to play your audiobook. Unlike traditional, virtual text-to-speech that results in robotic narration, ElevenLabs has pioneered new voice AI models that sound incredibly realistic and adapt to your text.
