Handle Gaslighting And Manipulation Without Pressure To "Just Leave"By Simone AdkinsRecorded TrackLength1h 12m
About this audiobook
I didn’t write this book after the fact, once I was out and everything made sense. I wrote much of it while I was still in the relationship.
I’m a trauma therapist, and that was hard to admit. I thought I should’ve known better. Once I understood what was happening, I thought I should leave. So when I didn’t, I judged the hell out of myself. I was ashamed, embarrassed and worried about what people would think if they knew.
I’m not giving you the cleaned-up version. I include actual journal entries I wrote while living it—the confusion, anger, hurt and self-doubt of knowing something wasn’t right while still loving someone and not being ready to leave.
Walking on Eggshells? is what I learned from living it, as a trauma therapist and a human who learned firsthand that knowing why something is happening doesn’t make you immune to it.
I’m not going to tell you to “just leave.” I’d rather sit with you while you figure out what’s true for you and find your way back to trusting yourself.
