The Financier's Bargain
A Revenge Billionaire RomanceBy Vivienne Ashcroft

About this audiobook
Maggie Kincaid has walked that dirt path to the mailbox a thousand times, past the rusted windmill, past the fence post where her father carved his initials before he died. The mail is usually bills and seed catalogs.
Not this time. The note on her ranch has been sold and called in under an acceleration clause she skimmed when she signed it. Ninety thousand, four hundred and twelve dollars, due on the fifteenth. That is twelve days. The cattle sale will not clear for three weeks. The hay will not be ready to cut for another month.
Her banker hides behind client confidentiality. Her neighbour Hank turns up on the porch with a six-pack and a look she knows too well. Her nineteen-year-old sister Ruby saw the envelope on the counter the night before and could not make herself say anything.
Then Maggie overhears two men in the feed store talking about a stipulation in a land trust, and the phrase that sticks is *the wife requirement*.
Jack Hargrove says it out loud at the town hall meeting, in front of everybody. He represents Wolf River Holdings. His grandfather's trust will not release without a marriage, and he needs one by the end of the quarter.
What Maggie does next is arithmetic, not romance. Secrecy. A prenup. Public appearances as needed. Six months, because that is what the trustees require, and a non-disclosure clause in section four that says she cannot tell her sister, her friends or her priest.
She tells Ruby they are dating.
What neither of them plans for is the rest of it: a calf wedged between boulders at the bottom of a ravine, a rival with a sharp blonde bob and a daughter of her own to offer, a rodeo, a ring that does not fit, and a grandfather's actual reason for writing that clause, which turns out to be neither traditional nor about control.
A small-town billionaire romance about four generations of Texas ranch land, a marriage-of-convenience that is dated and initialled before it is anything else, and two people who each expected to be the one holding the leverage. Closed-door, ending in a meadow at sunrise.
