Mount At-Tur: The Mountain of the Covenant
The Mountain of the Covenant in the Musa NarrativeBy Aira Aurora
Length1h 23m
About this audiobook
There are places in the Quran that host events, and there are places that are events. Mount At-Tur is both. The mountain of the Musa narrative — the mountain of the appointment, the call, the covenant, and the theophany — appears in the Quran in more than half a dozen passages, and in the most striking of them the mountain is not the setting of the event but the event itself: "And We lifted the Tur above you as if it were a canopy, and We said: Hold fast to what We have given you, and remember what is in it, that you may be God-fearing" (2:63).
