Byrne Avery
A decorated submarine captain launches his first novel. Most of the author's thirty-six years’ service in the Royal Navy was either aboard submarines or in their direct support. He enjoyed command positions in two diesel-electric patrol boats (SSK), in a nuclear-powered hunter-killer (SSN), and then in two nuclear deterrent boats (SSBN). In the rank of Captain, he oversaw all UK submarine training ashore and afloat. He retired after three appointments as a 1* Commodore in NATO in Belgium, in the UK Ministry of Defence, and in UK Fleet HQ.
HIs lived experience informs his writing.
