Viva Alice Dodge Whitney (1905–2003) was a Vermont poet whose verse spanned nearly a century of life in the Green Mountains. A 1923 graduate of Montpelier Seminary, she married Fred Farnham Whitney in Tunbridge in 1924, and wrote throughout her life in the traditional rhyming style of her era — poems of love and loss, snowstorms and seasons, gardens, faith, and family. Her collected work, Viva's Poems, was compiled and published by her grandson. It is a companion to the Whitney Genealogy by Fred Farnham Whitney.
