Sara Teasdale

Sara Teasdale (1884-1933) was an American lyric poet. Born in St. Louis, Missouri, she was known for her emotionally charged poems that explored themes such as love, nature, and death. She received several awards and honors during her lifetime, including the Columbia Poetry Prize in 1918 and the Pulitzer Prize for Poetry in 1918 for her collection "Love Songs". She was also a member of the Poe-Emerson-Longfellow Group, a literary club in New York City. Teasdale struggled with depression and took her own life in 1933 at the age of 48. Despite her relatively short life, her poetry continues to be widely read and celebrated for its haunting beauty and melancholic tone.
