Marie Siochana is an Australian writer and animal welfare advocate. She has a background in human services and has devoted many years to supporting both people and animals through volunteer work and advocacy. In 2007, she founded a Queensland support group for people bereaved by suicide.
Her first book, NARAKA: The U Gambira Story, tells the remarkable story of her husband, U Gambira, a former political prisoner in Burma (Myanmar). Her second book Rosella Prickletail is a deeply personal literary memoir exploring caregiving, attachment, and the extraordinary bond between humans & animals.
