Jacob Jaffe spent 30 years building a successful career—and his retirement learning to slow down. After more than two decades at Microsoft, he stepped away in 2021 with no grand plan. Now he writes about letting go of productivity and learning to let a day unfold without needing to justify it. He lives on Bainbridge Island, Washington, with his wife, Carolyn, and their labradoodle, Guinness. He plays pickleball, serves on his condo board, and takes long walks. Their two kids, Jonah and Nora, often appear in his work. Do Nothing was his first book—and, fittingly, never part of a five-year plan.
