I learned to tell stories before I learned to write them: long evenings in the early 1980s around a table with friends, graph paper, dice, and adventures invented as we played. An English teacher later challenged me to read further back ~ Frankenstein, Holmes, Homer ~ and those stories never left me.
The Prophet Beneath the Waves began as something much darker, almost Lovecraftian, where horror simply won. Over the years, the story changed. The darkness remained, but resilience, memory, and the weight of the past became its true heart.
