Garth Tander

Garth Tander is one of the most successful Australian racing drivers of the modern era. He became the 2007 Supercars Champion, driving a Holden for the HSV Dealer Team, and his career in the top category included a whopping 294 championship rounds and 648 races between 1998 and 2025. His six wins in the world-famous Bathurst 1000 cement his legacy as one of the nation's top racing achievers. Over his illustrious career he secured 58 Supercars Championship race wins, 102 podium finishes and 30 pole positions. Tander began racing go-karts as a child in his native Western Australia, amassing numerous titles, before stepping into car racing in 1995. Two years later he won the Australian Formula Ford Championship and then moved into Supercars in 1998 with Garry Rogers Motorsport. He drove for high-profile professional teams including the famous Holden Racing Team, Triple Eight Race Engineering and Grove Racing. Tander made a seamless transition into the Supercars television broadcasting in 2021 while co-driving in the endurance races. He was then elevated into the critical role of a Supercars expert television commentator post-retirement in 2025, bringing his wealth of experience and insights to viewers.
