Frederick Douglass

Frederick Douglass (1817 oder 1818 - 20. Februar 1895) war ein amerikanischer Sozialreformer, Abolitionist, Redner, Schriftsteller und Staatsmann. Nachdem er aus der Sklaverei in Maryland geflohen war, wurde er ein nationaler Führer der abolitionistischen Bewegung in Massachusetts und New York und wurde berühmt für seine Reden und prägnanten Schriften gegen die Sklaverei.
