Clarice Campos was born in Rio de Janeiro. She holds a degree in Literature, specializes in Brazilian Literature by Women Writers and in Children’s and Young Adult Literature, holds a master’s degree in Memories and Collections, and is currently a doctoral student in Literary Theory and Comparative Literature at the State University of Rio de Janeiro. She worked as a teacher in public schools in Rio de Janeiro for thirty years and is now a guest professor in graduate programs. O Bordado da Minha Avó was inspired by her childhood and by the stories her grandmother told while embroidering.
