Bruce Bisset was a full-time performance poet in the 1980’s, publishing three volumes (“beginnings” 1979, “Explanation” 1980, and “Coming Up Hard” 1983). He has been a journalist and columnist, blues singer, union organiser, video director, house painter, nightclub owner/manager and local body politician. His fourth volume, “endings” (2024), is a “poetical autobiography” from 1984 onward. He published a classic epic fantasy novel, “Under Duress” in 2020, and is working on sequels to form a trilogy (pub.2027). He lives in Hastings, New Zealand, with his wife, flax-weaver Linda Hill-Rennie.
