When the Ocean Changed Everything is a deeply personal account of surviving the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami. What began as a long-awaited journey quickly turned into chaos, fear, and a desperate struggle for survival. In the midst of devastation and uncertainty, moments of unexpected humanity and inner strength emerged.
Twenty years later, the memories still linger. The catastrophe did not only reshape a single day—it transformed an entire life. As the author reflects on survival, loss, guilt, and resilience, she also confronts a new crossroads: the tension between outward success and the search for something more meaningful.
This is a story about what remains when everything else is swept away—and about finding purpose after the unthinkable.
