Summary

Samuel is a boy who is mysterious and lonely due to the misty marshlands where secrets conceal between the reeds and whispers ride in the wind. Having become the object of ridicule in the village, being called the bog boy, Samuel finds the marsh wilderness a comfort, until a woodcut fragment of wood leads him into a realm of early myths. Following weird visions and voices, Samuel reveals the lost history of the Marsh Keepers, who have the secret of a wondrous and dangerous power. However, he is not the only one who is searching. An unknown black man follows the relics, and he is set to harness the marsh to cause destruction.
