About this audiobook
When they called my name, I didn't cry. or shake. neither gasp.
I smiled — because somewhere deep inside, I already knew.
Winning the national jazz competition in 2011 wasn't a surprise. It was a confirmation. A moment where the outside world finally caught up with what I had been carrying inside for years.
But let me be honest with you.
The road to that moment was not easy. There were hard days where the music felt heavy, where doubt tried to sit next to me and make itself comfortable. But it never stopped me. I had learned something that no teacher had ever taught me directly. I had learned to trust my own voice.
Two years later, in 2013, I won another national competition — this time as a songwriter, writing in English, my second language. Because music belongs to whoever is brave enough to feel it and honest enough to express it.
That is why I wrote this book.
Not to give you a formula or tell you to sing like someone else. That would be the worst advice anyone could give you.
