My Guards follows a young girl who survives her mother’s death by unconsciously creating protective figures who act as emotional and psychological shields. As she grows, more guards appear, each representing a part of her coping with pain, heartbreak, trauma, and memory. When she meets someone who understands grief, she begins to realize these guards are not separate beings but fragments of herself built to survive overwhelming loss. Through therapy and confronting buried memories, she slowly integrates these parts instead of relying on them to stand between her and the world. In the end, she does not lose her guards. She becomes whole, strong, and finally safe on her own.
