Summary
Legend of the Sword tells the story of Jin Tao, a young man in the village of Wu Long, as he undergoes a dangerous adventure to retrieve a blade of legend buried deep in the mountain of Heng. Following the teachings of his master and the tales of his grandfather, Tao is subjected to tests at both the physical and moral levels. He battles the monster of the woods, manages to survive the Chasm of Doubt, and even encounters visions in the Hall of Fire which requires sacrifice. The sword expresses power once Tao is promising to protect others and not himself. The biggest challenge is when his childhood friend, Shen, betrays him out of jealousy. During their duel, Tao opts to show mercy rather than pride, and it can be concluded that the real value is not in power but in honor and sacrifice.Book information
