About this audiobook
The voice throughout is the Lorekeeper’s own — a being who, by their own admission, had not spoken to many anybeings in a long while, and who set down the entire realm in the dark rather than let it fall unwitnessed. Where the dust spelled a map, I have redrawn it by a human hand, in human ink; where it spelled a moth, I have done my best to draw the moth. The cover and the chart of the Fold are my attempts to render in pigment what the dust rendered in light. They are, like every flat picture of that place, a lie agreed upon. Forgive them their flatness. The shape is true.
You do not need to believe a word of it. The codex itself would tell you that belief was never the point. You need only do the one thing it asks, which is also the only thing it required of me, and the only thing it now requires of you:
