Summary
Robert, the vicar's devoted son, fell in love with his childhood friend Hope, a kind soul he met at church. He wished to marry her but found she was engaged in a marriage of convenience, arranged by her parents with a wealthy associate. Hope loved Robert for his innocent heart, unlike the posh lords she knew, and couldn't go through with the arranged marriage.
