Getting Legless is the true memoir of Jared Hughes who was diagnosed with stage 5 kidney disease in 2021. As he was getting used to his new life on dialysis, fate took another turn for the worst when he discovered that his undiagnosed kidney problem has caused arterial disease which resulted in the amputation of both legs.
This memoir is a humorous description of the funnier things that have happened during his journey as well as candidly explaining the reality of living with a chronic condition and facing the reality of losing limbs.
Jared credits his ability to adapt and overcome these challenges to his family and friends who have closely supported and encouraged him throughout.
Jared has written this memoir to help others with chronic illness or limb loss as way to support and encourage them through their own journey and hopes it will also help anyone facing adversity or life's more difficult challenges.
