Marscape Revisited. Surviving on Mars since the destruction of Earth. The two factions NES and CAP are at odds about the future of mankind.
Keran discovers something about his father after his death that shocks him. After the two factions war, NES steals away on the UES Rigel starship, heading for Sirius. But they have to make a detour to Earth to pick up more fuel rods.
They discover a ruined Earth and attempt to recover fuel rods. They are met with creatures that thrive on radiation. Their attempt at retrieving fuel rods only partially succeeds and they leave orbit, heading for Sirius on a minimum of fuel.
It is then that Keran's father reveals a secret that could change the future of mankind.
