About this audiobook
Pineklel is nine years old and heir to the throne of a gentle, light world. Her uncle has just read her the nursery book of monsters from the deathworld called Sol-Three, and told her to move into his wing of the palace by sunset, for her own preservation. She can see what he is doing. And monsters are the one thing he is afraid of.
So she leaves a note on her pillow ("Gone to hire a monster. Back soon."), takes the royal courier yacht, and lands in a hazel copse in Herefordshire, England.
The first monster she finds is Gareth Cobley: thirty-eight, twelve years in the SAS, and mowing his lawn. She has twelve coins, a milk tooth and a contract written in blue crayon. He has a kettle, a retired special forces dog called Terry, and one clause of his own to add.
A complete science fiction story, performed by a full cast of voices.
