A Fault in the Movement
A Town That Keeps Its SilencesBy Dylan Kamerling
Length7h 8m
About this audiobook
Merryn Trevithick came to Portavis to rebuild. Eight months in a north-facing cottage above the harbour, a workbench full of delicate mechanisms, and a reputation she was quietly trying to repair — that was enough. Then she serviced the village's harbour memorial clock, found a modification she couldn't explain, and said nothing.
The clock vanishes three days before its rededication ceremony.
Now Merryn is the only person in Portavis with both the knowledge to have taken it and the access to have done so. Finding it is the only way to clear her name — but the clock's theft is tangled up in a sixty-year-old wrong: a man who served and died and was never counted, a family who has been waiting ever since, and a community that has learned to carry its silences.
A Fault in the Movement is a cosy mystery about small truths, careful people, and the particular courage it takes to correct what has quietly been wrong for a very long time.
