About this audiobook
**WHEN THE HEIGHTS STILL SMILED — BOOK ONE**
*A Poetic Cinema Kids Story*
**By Vernon Snell**
What if visitors from another planet discovered that the greatest magic on Earth wasn't magic at all?
Welcome to Washington Heights, where children fill the sidewalks with colorful chalk drawings, jump ropes dance beneath the summer sun, and neighbors turn ordinary moments into unforgettable memories.
Join Mia, Luis, Sofia, and their alien friends Zyra, Luma, Bop, Kip, and Zap as they discover the power of kindness, friendship, imagination, and belonging.
Guided by Elder Nova, the visitors learn that communities aren't made special by perfect buildings or beautiful streets, but by the people who care for one another.
Through eight heartwarming stories and a final reflection, Vernon Snell's Poetic Cinema Kids invites children and families to explore empathy, creativity, and the lessons our neighborhoods leave inside us.
**Because where we come from shapes our stories
