Following their return from the magical realm of Floria, a consequence of Luena forcing the magical lock manifests: a suffocating, gray mist begins leaking into their bedroom through the floorboards. Pip, the fairy, reveals this is discarded nightmare magic from the "Marsh of Muffled Chords" backing up into their world.To fix the leak, the girls must return to Floria via the Great Oak, singing to open the portal without sunlight. They find themselves in the terrifying, monochromatic Marsh, facing the Briar King, a creature woven from discarded, sorrowful lullabies. Tamaia uses her silver Whisper Whistle to soothe the giant, allowing him to dissolve peacefully.The girls learn a massive "Nightmare Knot" is blocking the Marsh's drain.
