About this audiobook
At Smith Medical Center, healing has never been only about medicine.
Samuel Smith enters a world of impossible decisions, frightened families, exhausted caregivers, and patients carrying burdens no medical chart can explain. As he learns what it truly means to care for another human being, he discovers that compassion can demand sacrifice—and that mercy often carries a price.
Guided by unexpected mentors and surrounded by ordinary people whose quiet acts of kindness leave extraordinary marks, Samuel begins to understand that the greatest legacy a physician can leave may have nothing to do with the lives he saves in an operating room.
**Mercy Has a Price** is the first book in *The Sanctuary of Smith*, an emotional and uplifting story about medicine, faith, leadership, friendship, sacrifice, and the extraordinary power of treating every person as though their life matters.
Because sometimes the smallest act of mercy can change a life forever.
